It is implied that the operating system is already installed on your server.
If you are running Windows 2000 or a later version of Windows, then you already have Windows Installer 1.1 or a later version, and there is no need to reinstall it. Otherwise, check out the www.microsoft.com web site for the latest version of Windows Installer.
Launch the Plesk.msi installer file. Fill out the requested customer information in the dialog window.
Select the 'Complete' option on the 'Setup type' dialog window for full installation. Select 'Custom' if you wish to select the components to be installed.
On the 'Server information' dialog window, your system information will be displayed. Make sure the information is correct and click Next.
After the installation is completed, you may need to restart your system.
Completion
When the installation is finished, Plesk 6.5 will have started automatically. In order to complete the Plesk initial configuration, you need to login to Plesk on your host at https://machine.domain.name:8443/ or https://IP-Address:8443/
The default username is admin and the default password is setup. Both are case sensitive. For security reasons this password should be changed upon initial login.
When you login to the Plesk control panel for the first time, you are taken to the post-installation configuration page, where you are prompted to supply the following information:
"Select the shared IP addresses" list displays the whole range of IP addresses in the pool. You need to select the addresses that will be used as shared for name based hosting accounts.
To change the default administrator's password, type it in the Administrator's password input field, and confirm in the field below.
Click the Update button to complete the initial configuration.
To install the license key, run from the command line the utility ‘key-writer.exe’ installed with Plesk. It is placed into SWsoft\PLESK\admin\bin folder. The only parameter used is the path to the key file.
For instance, you can copy the key to a folder SWsoft\PLESK\admin\key and use the command: SWsoft\PLESK\admin\bin\key-writer.exe SWsoft\PLESK\admin\key\your_license.key
The utility will install the software key into your system. After installation is completed, a system restart is required.
